what we cant put into a macerator pump?

2024-08-05

A macerator pump is used to grind and pump waste. However, there are several things that should not be put into a macerator pump.

Non-biodegradable items: Things like plastics (such as plastic bags, toys, etc.), metal objects (nails, screws, small metal parts), and glass fragments should not be put in. These items cannot be effectively macerated and can damage the pump's blades and internal components.Large or hard solids: Big chunks of food waste that are too large (such as whole bones or large pieces of fruit or vegetables that haven't been cut up properly), fibrous materials that are too thick and hard (like large pieces of rope or thick fabric), and other hard solids that are not designed to be processed by the pump can cause jams and mechanical failures.Chemicals and hazardous substances: Cleaning agents, oils, solvents, and other chemicals should not be put into the macerator pump. They can react with the waste and potentially damage the pump or contaminate the waste stream in a way that is harmful to the environment or sewage treatment systems.

In general, it's important to only put appropriate biodegradable and properly sized waste materials into a macerator pump to ensure its proper functioning and longevity.
